Full Funded Scholarship Program by U.S. Department of State!

Community College Initiative (CCI) is a program of the U.S. Department of State. CCI provides emerging Bangladeshi student leaders with one academic year of non-degree study at an American community college. CCI participants will be enrolled in full-time undergraduate level vocational training courses from the fields of applied engineering, business management and administration, early childhood education, information technology, public safety, media, and tourism and hospitality management. First year through third year undergraduate students are eligible to apply for this program.

Participants may earn an academic certificate in their field of study and gain first-hand practical experience through internships. After completing the program, participants return home with enhanced skills and expertise to help them contribute to the economic development of their countries.

The program will provide full financial support which will cover the following
  • J-1 visa support.
  • Round-trip travel from participant’s home city to host institution in the United States. 
  • Tuition and mandatory college fees. 
  • Housing and meals. 
  • Small allowance for books and incidental expenses. 
  • Limited Accident and Sickness coverage that is J-visa compliant. 
  • A variety of personal and professional development activities.

Quiz Competition for a Trip to Sweden!

The Embassy of Sweden in Bangladesh, along with prominent Swedish business houses, is organizing The Sweden–Bangladesh Nobel Memorial Quiz for the first time which celebrates innovations, creativity, Swedish contributions to the development of the world and the strengthening of relations between the two countries. The broad theme of the quiz is Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Prize, Nobel Laureates, innovations and inventions of Swedish people and Sweden in general.

Members of the winning team get to go for an all-expense paid week-long trip to Sweden where they will visit Swedish companies, universities and the Nobel Museum. The quiz is open to all students currently enrolled at a university in Bangladesh. Students are required to form teams of 3 members each in order to participate. All members of a team must be from the same institution. There is no entry fee.

Time - 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Date - 6 th December, 2015
Venue - Auditorium Complex, Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET)

ASEF Young Leaders Summit: A Great Opportunity for NSU Students!

It is of great pleasure in informing you about ASEF’s next education project for students of North South University.

In conjunction with the 12th ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM FFM12), ASEF will organise the ASEF Young Leaders Summit(#ASEFYLS) on the topic of “Entrepreneurship and Youth Employment” from 1-5 November 2015 in Luxembourg. Hosted by the University of Luxembourg and the European Investment Bank, ASEFYLS is for young thinkers and doers between the ages of 18-30 from 51 ASEM member countries. The participants will question and explore how the entrepreneurial vein can trigger and nourish job-creation, mobility and social cohesion in Asia and Europe. Constructive dialogue, hands-on skills development and a Call for Action addressed to the ASEM Foreign Ministers are the core elements of this collaborative and highly intercultural Programme. The Summit closes with a joint reception for the ASEM Foreign Ministers, their delegations as well as the Young Leaders Summit participants at the EIB.

ASEF has just launched the Open Call for Application and warmly invites you, the students of NSU, to apply. The deadline for application is 20 September 2015. The organisers will cover accommodation, meals and provide a travel subsidy for the selected participants.
