Photography Exhibition!

North South University Photography Club (NSUPC) is going to have its most prestigious event of the year International Inter- University Photography Exhibition (IIUPE). This time the club received 7054 photographs from 832 photographers, belonging to 197 universities.

Works of 150 photographers from 101 universities have been selected to be exhibited in IIUPE 2014. The honorable jury board members were- Abir Abdullah, Ashraful Awal Misuk, Saud Al Faisal and Shafiqul Alam Kiron.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held in the National Art Gallery at 11 am on the 29th of August, 2014. Eminent artist Mr. Mustafa Monowar and honorable Vice Chancellor of North South University Prof. Dr. Amin Sarker will grace the position of chief guest and guest of honor accordingly. The chief guest and the guest of honor will declare names of the winners and hand over the crests.

The honorable Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) Mr. Benajir Ahmed will close the exhibition on the 5th of September and will distributed the certificates among the winners.

The exhibition will remain open for all every day from 29th August to 5th September at the National Art Gallery, Shilpakala Academy from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Grades Posted!

Grades have been assessed and submitted into the system. Following is the summary of grades posted this semester (Summer 2014) for my courses. 

Unfortunately nobody could show outstanding results on a consistent basis this semester as well to be placed in the Hall of Fame section. Marksheets Uploaded!

Markseets have been uploaded for all courses taught this semester. However, some assessments for FIN courses (Final problem section for FIN440 and project marks for both FIN254 and FIN440) are yet to be done and recorded. Will upload the updated marksheets once they are done.

Please notify all your classmates about this. These are original marks you obtained. As such, curving is yet to be done. Please go through your marks carefully. If you find any problem in your marks, you must report that to me immediately through email. Otherwise grades would be assessed based on these marks after necessary curving.

BUS172 Student Learning Assessment!

All my students (sections 11 & 12) of BUS172 must take a student learning assessment test. It is a very short (5 MCQs) assessment test which has been made mandatory by the school of business. You are asked to come by my office on the 24th of August, 2014 (Sunday) between 8 am and 11 am to take the test. Your grades will be withheld if you don't take the test. So, please be serious about it and inform all your classmates about this.

FIN254 Final Exam Time Changed!

To resolve the time conflict between FIN254 and FIN440 exams as mentioned in an earlier post, following new schedule has been fixed for FIN254 final exam.

FIN254=> 19th Aug, 2014 @ 10 am in NAC310.

Final Exam Schedule for Summer 2014!

Registrar's Office has published the final exam schedule for the semester. Following dates and timings are for my courses:

BUS172=> 16-Aug @ 8 am in NAC415
FIN254=> 19-Aug @ 12 pm in NAC405
FIN440=> 19-Aug @ 12 pm in NAC501

As you can see FIN254 and FIN440 exams have been scheduled at the same time, I am trying to change timing of FIN254. It seems that the person who does this has not come to the office today. I will try to change the time, but not the date. In case, no other time is available on that date I might change the date, and I would prefer an earlier date. I will let you know the decision once I confirm with the Registrar's Office, may be by tomorrow, Inshallah.

Don't forget we have quizzes on the last day of classes. Following would be the quiz syllabus.

BUS172=> Chapters 8 & 9.
FIN254=> Chapters 8, 9, & 10.
FIN440=> Chapters 8, 9, 10, & 15.

FIN Project Submission Deadline Extended!

Project submission deadline has been extended for both FIN254 and FIN440. You must submit all softcopy and hardcopy data sources along with the printed copy of the report. New submission deadline is Thursday, 14th of August, 2014 either from 9 am to 10:30 am in the morning or 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm in the afternoon.

Seminar on 'Environmental Education & Its Prospect'!

Department of Environmental Science and Management (DESM) is going to arrange a seminar on 'Environmental Education & its Prospect' on 26 June 2014 (Thursday) at OAT 801 from 11:30 a.m.
 
Professor David Collins, Professor of Physical Geography, Associate Head International Salford University, Manchester, will be the keynote speaker.
 
Prof. Sirajul Islam Khan, Dean, School of Health & Life Sciences would be the chief guest. Prof. Mizan R. Khan, Professor, DESM, will Chair the session. 

Few other  special guests and speakers will speak in the seminar as designated discussants. Your kind attendance and cooperation would make this seminar a success.

BUS172: Quiz-I and Mid-I

As discussed in the class, first quiz and midterm would be held on 23-June (Monday) and 25-June (Wednesday) respectively during class hours. As such, we will start chapter 5 from tomorrow. However, syllabus for quiz and midterm will still be chapters 1 through 4.

Blood Donation Drive!

NSU Social Services Club has organized a 4-day blood donation drive at NSU Recreation Center from 1st to 4th of June, 2014. Quantum Foundation will be collecting blood and providing free major blood tests including blood grouping for each donor. Donors are also given free ice cream/drink and souvenirs.

Please encourage your friends to come or at least visit the center to at least encourage the donors, and maybe donate and help save a life. Thanks.

Project Marks Uploaded!

Finally I am done with marking all the project reports of FIN254 and FIN440. I have uploaded the project marks for both the groups and the group members along with group member evaluation marks in the respective course folders. I was given two days of probation advising duty on 6th and 7th of May, that's why I am a bit late to prepare the grades. Hopefully I will be able to submit the grades tomorrow.
