Impotant Update!

I (along with my wife & eldest daughter) was recently diagnosed with Dengue. We are receiving treatment at a local hospital and recovering gradually, however still very weak. I have been instructed to stay away from internet/pc/cellphone as much as possible. So, it will not be a long post! 

I hope you understand it's not practically possible for me to check and reply to every email at this point. Sunday was the first exam day and the first office day of the week, so could not make any alternet arrangement which was possible for Monday exams. Anyway, here is the plan for people who still have unfinished tasks.

FIN440 final exam will be held at 11 am @ NAC514 on Thursday (20th August). For those of you who missed other various exams earlier, please contact Dept. of Acct n Fin  secretary Ms Farzana Sultana by visiting her dept office physically for your makeup exam arrangements. Those of you who still could not submit your reports, do that as soon as possible to her. If you have any especial issues, you may let her know. Please be patient and understanding when you approach her with any request as she is a very busy person serving so many dept faculty members and students.

I am extremely sorry for all the inconveniences you have experienced so far. Please try to forgive me and keep us in your prayers. Thank you.

As many students were having problems with my schedule and I was also requested by the Dept. not to follow my own personal schedule to avoid such problems, I have arranged the final exam schedule for my courses/sections in the following manner as per respective class time/slot. As it corresponds to the original official schedule, nobody should have any conflict or time-clash now!

FIN440.2 => 26th Apr. (Sun) @ 2:40 pm

BUS172.21 => 27th Apr. (Mon) @ 2:40 pm

BUS172.15 => 30th Apr. (Thu) @ 9:40 am

FIN254.22 => 4th May (Mon) @ 8:00 am

Final Exam Schedule!

The Controller of Examinations Office has published the following final exam schedule (undergraduate) for Spring 2015.

As you may understand, it is not clear from the above schedule when the final exams will be held for my courses/sections. I'll let you know about that in another post and will discuss in class. Thank you!

FIN254 Final Exam Time Changed!

To resolve the time conflict between FIN254 and FIN440 exams as mentioned in an earlier post, following new schedule has been fixed for FIN254 final exam.

FIN254=> 19th Aug, 2014 @ 10 am in NAC310.

Final Exam Schedule for Summer 2014!

Registrar's Office has published the final exam schedule for the semester. Following dates and timings are for my courses:

BUS172=> 16-Aug @ 8 am in NAC415
FIN254=> 19-Aug @ 12 pm in NAC405
FIN440=> 19-Aug @ 12 pm in NAC501

As you can see FIN254 and FIN440 exams have been scheduled at the same time, I am trying to change timing of FIN254. It seems that the person who does this has not come to the office today. I will try to change the time, but not the date. In case, no other time is available on that date I might change the date, and I would prefer an earlier date. I will let you know the decision once I confirm with the Registrar's Office, may be by tomorrow, Inshallah.

Don't forget we have quizzes on the last day of classes. Following would be the quiz syllabus.

BUS172=> Chapters 8 & 9.
FIN254=> Chapters 8, 9, & 10.
FIN440=> Chapters 8, 9, 10, & 15.

BUS172: Quiz-I and Mid-I

As discussed in the class, first quiz and midterm would be held on 23-June (Monday) and 25-June (Wednesday) respectively during class hours. As such, we will start chapter 5 from tomorrow. However, syllabus for quiz and midterm will still be chapters 1 through 4.

Final Exam Rescheduled!

Final Exam schedule of 24th January has been rescheduled to be held on 22nd January (Wednesday) for all 100 & 200 level courses and 23rd January (Thursday) for all 300 & 400 level courses. As such, final exams of my remaining courses, i.e., FIN254 and ACT201 would be held on 22nd of January (Wednesday). Please let all your friends know about it. Following is the official notice.

Since we have working days from 19 to 23 January 2014, the university authority has decided to RESCHEDULE the Final Exams of Friday, 24 January 2014 as follows:

Now that country-wide blockade/hartal programs are becoming less common, please prepare for the worst. That means your final exams may be held sooner than previously announced if bockade-free days become more available. So, please utilize your time wisely and don't get surprised to see a sudden final exam notice by the Registrar's Office.

Urgent Notice from the Registrar's Office!

This is for the information of all concerned that the undergraduate classes missed in the Fall 2013 semester will be made up with holding of make-up classes and in-class FINAL exams as per following schedule:

Friday, 10 January 2014 – MW Class

Tuesday, 14 January 2014 – ST Class

Friday, 17 January 2014 – MW Class + FINAL EXAMS [for MW]

Friday, 24 January 2014 – ST Class + FINAL EXAMS [for ST]

The duration of each class will be 2 hrs.15 minutes which will cover 2 (two) classes at a time.  The REVISED time slots are given below:

FIN254 & ACT201: Midterm-II Exam Room!

Dear ACT201 and FIN254 students:

Dear all BUS172 students:

NAC311 has been booked as the venue for the second midterm. We will follow regular class schedule for the exam timing. So, go to the exam hall instead of your regular class room. Please inform your classmates about it.

BUS172: Midterm-II

The Registrar's Office has just announced 26th of December (Thursday) to be MW makeup class day. As such, the second midterm for BUS172 will be held on 26th December (Thursday) and we will have a regular class (MW) on Friday 27th of December.

In case there is a blockade or strike on 26th December (Thursday), midterm will be held on 27th December (Friday). And please don't forget... we have quiz 2 tomorrow in NAC415 at 12:30 pm. Best of luck for the quiz.

BUS172: Quiz 2!

This is to inform all my BUS172 students that the second quiz will be held on the 25th of December, 2013 (Wednesday) in NAC415 at 12:30 pm followed by a review class.

Please inform all your classmates about this. Don't miss this class as there is no makeup for a missed quiz. You should also understand that the next available MW class after the quiz will be used for the second midterm.

I am very sorry for any inconveniences caused by this schedule. I hope you will understand the necessity of this given the fact that we have missed a lot of classes already because of ongoing country-wide blockade. Thanks.

Official Makeup Notice and More!

Following is the official makeup class schedule announced by the Registrar’s Office. However, I am planning to hold MW makeup class on Saturday (30^th November, 2013) this weekend. BUS172 students are requested to prepare for quiz 2 to be held in that class so that we can hold second midterm on Monday (2^nd of December, 2013) as scheduled earlier. Please inform all your classmates about this.
