Project: FIN254 & FIN440!

I have made group details (DSE listed companies assigned to group members) along with project instruction (guideline) file available in the respective course folders. Collect last five years of annual reports of the assigned companies from DSE library (or nearby footpath if reports are not available in digital format at DSE) as soon as possible. Do remember to carry your NSU ID card for student discount at DSE library. If you are lucky you may be able to download some annual reports from company website or other sites.

I will upload some more files soon for you to use later on. First collect the annual reports as soon as possible. Inform all your classmates about this. It would be to your advantage if you can start working on your project during these hartal days.

Personal Makeup Class for BUS172!

There will be makeup classes for BUS172 on the 8th of November, 2014 (Saturday) in two sessions: one at 11:20 am (for section 20) and another at 2:40 pm (for sections 21 and 22) in NAC411. If you have time clash with pre-scheduled Thursday (R classes) makeup class, you may attend the other class with another section.

Please note that quiz 5 will be held on chapter 5 that day followed by regular class covering chapter 6. So, don't miss this class and inform all your classmates about it.

As per the decision of the Registrar's Office, classes missed on 26th of October, 2014 (Sunday) due to country-wide hartal, will be made up on 1st of November, 2014 (Saturday) according to ST class schedule.

BUS172 Makeup Class!

As discussed in the class there will be two makeup class sessions today as follows:

1. From 11:10 to 12:50 pm
2. From 2:40 to 4:10 pm

For now I am hoping to have the classes at NAC412 or any other nearby rooms depending on availability!

Make-up Notice!

Registrar's Office has announced make-up classes for the classes missed due to hartal. As such, we will have classes on Saturday, 27th September for the classes we are missing today (Sunday, 21st September).

As we might miss tomorrow's classes due to extension of hartal, I am planning to make that up on this Thursday (25th September). Details will be given in Wednesday class.

Photography Exhibition!

North South University Photography Club (NSUPC) is going to have its most prestigious event of the year International Inter- University Photography Exhibition (IIUPE). This time the club received 7054 photographs from 832 photographers, belonging to 197 universities.

Works of 150 photographers from 101 universities have been selected to be exhibited in IIUPE 2014. The honorable jury board members were- Abir Abdullah, Ashraful Awal Misuk, Saud Al Faisal and Shafiqul Alam Kiron.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held in the National Art Gallery at 11 am on the 29th of August, 2014. Eminent artist Mr. Mustafa Monowar and honorable Vice Chancellor of North South University Prof. Dr. Amin Sarker will grace the position of chief guest and guest of honor accordingly. The chief guest and the guest of honor will declare names of the winners and hand over the crests.

The honorable Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) Mr. Benajir Ahmed will close the exhibition on the 5th of September and will distributed the certificates among the winners.

The exhibition will remain open for all every day from 29th August to 5th September at the National Art Gallery, Shilpakala Academy from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Grades Posted!

Grades have been assessed and submitted into the system. Following is the summary of grades posted this semester (Summer 2014) for my courses. 

Unfortunately nobody could show outstanding results on a consistent basis this semester as well to be placed in the Hall of Fame section. If you are interested to know your grade, you may email me (imran.edu@gmail.com). Alternatively, you may wait until your advising session starts for next semester to check your grade in the system.

Marksheets Uploaded!

Markseets have been uploaded for all courses taught this semester. However, some assessments for FIN courses (Final problem section for FIN440 and project marks for both FIN254 and FIN440) are yet to be done and recorded. Will upload the updated marksheets once they are done.

Please notify all your classmates about this. These are original marks you obtained. As such, curving is yet to be done. Please go through your marks carefully. If you find any problem in your marks, you must report that to me immediately through email. Otherwise grades would be assessed based on these marks after necessary curving.

BUS172 Student Learning Assessment!

All my students (sections 11 & 12) of BUS172 must take a student learning assessment test. It is a very short (5 MCQs) assessment test which has been made mandatory by the school of business. You are asked to come by my office on the 24th of August, 2014 (Sunday) between 8 am and 11 am to take the test. Your grades will be withheld if you don't take the test. So, please be serious about it and inform all your classmates about this.

FIN254 Final Exam Time Changed!

To resolve the time conflict between FIN254 and FIN440 exams as mentioned in an earlier post, following new schedule has been fixed for FIN254 final exam.

FIN254=> 19th Aug, 2014 @ 10 am in NAC310.

Final Exam Schedule for Summer 2014!

Registrar's Office has published the final exam schedule for the semester. Following dates and timings are for my courses:

BUS172=> 16-Aug @ 8 am in NAC415
FIN254=> 19-Aug @ 12 pm in NAC405
FIN440=> 19-Aug @ 12 pm in NAC501

As you can see FIN254 and FIN440 exams have been scheduled at the same time, I am trying to change timing of FIN254. It seems that the person who does this has not come to the office today. I will try to change the time, but not the date. In case, no other time is available on that date I might change the date, and I would prefer an earlier date. I will let you know the decision once I confirm with the Registrar's Office, may be by tomorrow, Inshallah.

Don't forget we have quizzes on the last day of classes. Following would be the quiz syllabus.

BUS172=> Chapters 8 & 9.
FIN254=> Chapters 8, 9, & 10.
FIN440=> Chapters 8, 9, 10, & 15.

FIN Project Submission Deadline Extended!

Project submission deadline has been extended for both FIN254 and FIN440. You must submit all softcopy and hardcopy data sources along with the printed copy of the report. New submission deadline is Thursday, 14th of August, 2014 either from 9 am to 10:30 am in the morning or 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm in the afternoon.
